Kalt is handmade jewellery that carries the colours, coastlines, and artisanal spirit of the Italian Mediterranean.
The artist
Elena, Italian by birth, left Italy for the UK in 2018, and in 2021 settled in Copenhagen.
But no matter the city or the climate, something of home has always traveled with her: the coastlines, the colours, the quiet artisanal spirit that runs through everything.
Craftsmanship
Her path into jewellery making began a few years after high school, when she enrolled in a jewellery design school and fell in love with the craft.
It started as study, then slowly became something lived at the bench itself, not through formal training alone, but through hours of trial, error, and teaching herself the trade. Back in her hometown of Genoa, she co-founded a small jewellery brand inspired by the Ligurian sea, and it was there that she first learned what it means to build something from nothing.
The Kalt brand
In 2023, while completing her design degree, she founded Kalt.
After years of living far from home, she wanted a way to carry a piece of it with her wherever she went. Every piece she creates carries that Mediterranean soul, shaped by hand and by years of learning what it means to make something with care, something meant to last.
Kalt is her way of staying connected to where she comes from, and an invitation for others to carry a little piece of it too.
